My Role
I supported the team in graphic/visual designs, UX/UI as well as supporting the team in Social Networking events.
The Backstory
FilmHero was started by movie gurus and enthusiasts, especially in indie films.
FilmHero is a platform built for independent filmmakers so they can monetize their
films while advocating a social impact and change through an interactive dialogue between filmmakers and film enthusiasts. The users of our platform can help support the filmmakers and support the cause by streaming, licensing, downloading, and hosting screenings for Independent Films.
The Objective
FilmHero is an innovative startup preparing to launch an indie film platform for filmmakers. We want to help design an intuitive and simple application with a one-stop solution to help them self-monetize, track, and track ticket sales on our platform.
The Challenge
Traditionally, most independent films were screened exclusively at film festivals around the world, but filmmakers weren’t earning enough money for their work. Approximately, 60,000 Indie films are produced each year worldwide. The films were only seen by a fraction of potential audiences.
We have a very small team with a tight deadline which created a lot of constraints with the amount of work that had to be done to deliver the designs and implementations of the product design. Because we have a small team, sometimes the team structure gets a little bit lost and information needs to be redefined more clearly.
One of the main challenges we faced was that there were not very many Indie Filmmakers who receives a lot of traction for their films and that was always the question whether or not their film will be able to reach to a larger audience.

Will film lovers pay money to watch it on the FilmHero platform?

Will film lovers pay per film on the FilmHero platform or will they pay for a monthly or yearly subscription?
The Solution
We prioritized the business requirements into categories with the consensus from our team. We delegated the task among our small design team and developed iterations after iterations until we received our result within a month due to the demands and time constraints.
I came up with the design approach for filmmaker and admin dashboard through analyzing other dashboards and approaching mine design a little bit differently and technical looking.
